Can you make a heart?

Shirley is asking on her blog for healing heart blocks to make quilts for the families of the 29 miners who died last week in New Zealand.
On her blog you can find more details and her address.
I am sure we, together, can make lots of hearts. I'll mail my hearts today.

In the mail

Last week i got these cute things in the mail; they came from her.

I felt in love with the tiny socks and started to knit them. Mine are a bit bigger but also lovely....

I did not blog a lot these days because I was not in the mood neither for blogging nor for visiting my friends blogs, because of the continuing problems with my sewing machine. Here I told you that the dealer gave me a replacement when they sent my machine back to the factory. But , as some of you thought, that was not the same type as the one I bought. Last friday mu machine arrived from the factory, after SIX WEEKS. I think that's a shame. Bernina is really the top but there service en France is a disaster. And , you don't believe me, the problem was not solved!!!!
Thank goodness I already was active on a sewing forum. There are three woman in Holland who proposed me to send them samples of my stitchery. They have the same Bernina Aurora 440 QE.
To be continued......

5 weeks till Christmas

This week I am following the Mistletoe Make & Bake. It is a holiday blog-hop with a Baker's dozen of designer (quilters) projects and dozens of yummy cookie recipes.
Tomorrow is the last day of the blog-hop, so it's not too late to go there, there are also many giveaways come with Christmas  cookie recipes. Here you can read all about it.

I suggest that you bake one whole sunday to fill jars with cookies and bars, such original handmade presents. The recipes are so delicious and very traditional, I love that.

There are more recipes on the 12 blogs that participate.

HAPPY COOKING.

Sisters of the world Quilt

In september Lizzie,  of  'a house in the country' asked us a favor. Her friend,Sue, that she know for more than 30 years is ill, severely ill.  Sue has made many, many quilts in her life. Lizzie asked us to send her 'orphan' blocks that we've made but not yet used. She wanted to put them together  and give the quilt to her friend Sue, to keep her warm and cosy.
And to show her how much we as women and quilters care for our sisters all around the world.

Lizzie received 160 blocks from so many countries.......  She did such a GREAT job and I feel honored to take part of this quilt.
Here is Lizzie with the quilt:

She even could not use all the blocks, those were send to n organization that makes quilts for children in New Zealand, who are victimes of the earthquakes .

New bags

Yesterday I promised you 2 new bags and a new winner of my giveaway. I did not got an answer of Lauren , but this morning I received her email.  So she can make her choice and she'll receive her giveaway prize.
Here are the new bags.  First a small toddler's backpack, so cute....  The outside fabric is corduroy, the lining is red/white/black striped cotton fabric. The bag has a zipper closure. There is an inside pocket.

I also made a messenger bag, a combination of jean fabric and batik fabric, I am very happy with the result. The bag has two outside and one inside pocket. The bag is lined with the same batik fabric. I need too find a nice button for the closure....

If you are interested in my bags, please contact me.
