The cranes are back
Friday there were lots of cranes flewing over. I immediately started to work in the garden...... Because everyone here in France says that this is 'bon signe', (good sign) of SPRING.

The fox was here
Last night the fox succeeded to enter the henhouse! This morning I found one hen dead, and the rooster had disappeared. So the fox took my beautiful red, large rooster, maybe to feed his 'children'. The fox took the rooster through a very small hole in the wire -netting....
There is a silence around the house....

Japanese hearts
After having my 'lessons' with Dorien I wanted to practice immediately. I searched for fabric and could find only a 6inch pack in blue and rose that I bought in the sixties from Laura Ashley. So I started with this dollquilt, I need to find a nice binding to finish it.
When I came home I started the Japanese hearts dollquilt. The indigo Japanese fabric has little owls, cats, fishes , which I used for the hearts.
I am already looking for the next quilt project, but first I need to finish two bags, they were commanded last year!

I was the winner
When I came home from Holland there were several packages waiting for me. One was this beautiful quilt that I won in the Australian Flood auction.
It's made by Helen from the U.K, she called it Woomba Woomba.

It was machine quilted and on the circles she quilted by hand . It' a real piece of art. I am very happy with it hanging in my house now.
Thank you Helen.

Mini mini quilt
When I was in Holland I visited my blogfriend Dorien. She learned me to cut fabric in a correct way. We made this mini mini quilt with two ways of applique. She also showed me how to sew a logcabin. And she showed me her quilts, so beautiful. I LOVE this red one, so gorgeous.
It' a pity that you cannot see the details with applique, beads, mirrors.
And here is my mini quilt, I need to do the binding and then it's finished.
After this very nice and inspiring day I think the quiltvirus has hit me........

A bit of this and a bit of that
Last week I received this quilt book from Fiona, I won it in her giveaway. It's a book full of patterns and explications and there are so many pictures of different blocks! Thanks again Fiona. Next week when I will be in Holland I 'll visit my blogfriend Dorien to learn how to make a logcabin block. In the book is a beautiful picture of a logcabin.
I started to crochet. I don't know if the crochet virus really hit me but on so many blogs you can find flowers, hearts and so on.
I made some flowers, sewed a button or a beed in the centre to make child brooches for the market.
The cute little boy in Holland has a little sister, her name is KALLE. I go to Holland to visit her, so the next ten days no posts.
Her mother wanted a white mobile with birds, I crocheted also white flowers to hang in between. I need to attach the birds and flowers when I'll be arrived in Holland.
