My trip to Italy....Orvieto and his history,
With Sue, Karen, Cathy and Sandy I went on sunday to the necropolis . The site dates from the 4th and 5th century. It is formed by tomb chambers constructed of blocks of tufa ( a variety of limestone). Each chamber is identified with the name carved above the entrance.

I'd love to go back to Ovieto. The duomo was/is special to me since I studied with the man who assisted in creating the door for this wonderful place. (in Perusia) I loved the frescos found inside so much that I came back to northern Italy to study fresco making with Alma Ortolan. I know you had a wonderful time..Love the photos of the cafe's and the pottery.
