And this was how it looked at the end of the week:
And here is the finished quilt:
The colors on this picture are the real colors..
I used Japanese vintage kimonofabric and aboriginal fabric, the embroidery was done with Valdani thread. The wool is handdyed by Sue Spargo's sister.
In the train and the plane I crocheted flowers, this yarn is so soft and has beautiful colors. I bought it here , as a kit for a crochet scarf. i never made the scarf and I don't know what to do with all those flowers. Do you have an idea?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMooi idee vintage kimono stofjes !
Oh my your colours are so so lovely. The crochet circles are beautiful, I think if they were joined together it would look beautiful thrown on the end of a bed or on the back of a sofa!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLove, love the little quilt, gorgeous colours and I agree, join the flowers together....table runner, back of the sofa or chair...lovely.

Your Duomo inspired project is stunning - really beautiful! Your crochet flowers are lovely too. Maybe you could just join them together as a wall hanging or applique them onto some backing fabric :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYour quilt is so beautiful Baukje - could be a carving but it reminds me of a medieval stained glass window. And the crochet medallions are so pretty too - what about bookmarks for your next craft fair - like these:

I'm making one at the moment - you could put felt circles behind the crochet.
Oh wow - just absolutely beautiful! And those crocheted circles do have gorgeous colors. I'm with sewing them together and just laying them over a chair or sofa somewhere - or even over cloth and making a pillow. So pretty!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLove your little quilt.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat about stitching those flowers onto a garment? A cardigan or a plain skirt. They are lovely.
Love the colors, isn't it annoying that sometimes photos don't quite capture the strength of the colors you see. Crocheting is divine!
Groetjes,
Jeanneke.
