May I present you........

May i present you the mice family. When I saw Finnegan on Sandra's blog i was in love and i wanted to make him.
But as usual when i make something i want to make more than one......
So i made a whole family, here they are.

As you can see father has put on his new scarf and is almost leaving for the pub.....

Mother asks him to stay.... why do you always go to the pub on saturday.....

But father is a very macho mouse, he wants to drink something with his mouse friends....
So even on saturday evening mother is alone at home...
The little one does not like his parents arguing again, he also feels alone....

They were, all three, sold at the Christmas market, seperately.
Maybe not too bad, there family life was not happy at all......

Indigo dyeing in Urciers

Urciers is the small village where I live, about 300 km south to Paris. Maybe it is better to call uUciers a hamlet, there are only 260 inhabitants!
After my dyeing experience in Bordeaux, i wanted to dye at home. I made a natural indigo vat, the reducer was fructose.
The first day the vat looked in a perfect condition but the blue was rather pale, even after 5 dips.
Two days later there was nu metallic shine, no flower on the surface of the vat, but the color was much deeper blue. I don't understand, there is still a lot learn about this magic indigo dyeing.

This week i will finish some children bags for the Christmas market, so next i will work with this fabric to make some bags.

the Christmas market and some chocolates

I had a very successful market last sunday. We together sold for 1000 euro, most things were sold below 10 euro...... Tthe indigo tote that I showed you in my last post was sold five minutes after we opened the door. I also sold Jacobus and Karel.
We don't have separate stalls but everything is on large tables.

The beautiful painting of the castle at the wall is the view outside.........

Last week we also made our traditional Christmas chocolates at Lucy's house. She prepared the recipes and guided us to the delicious  result.

To be honest....these were made by the chef herself.
Our work was not perfect at all and there was chocolate and marzipan on the floor and all over the table.

These were made by us! But we had lots of fun.

When we were ready Lucy's kitchen, looked like a battle field......

Quiltmania Christmas Squares

Do you like to start some Christmas quilt decorations? On the Quiltmania site you will find every day a pattern of a new square, with which you could make a quilt a banner or a table topper. When you make them all you will have 24 squares de 12 x 12 cm at the end. On the site you find a PDF for the pattern and a video (only in French) for the explanations.
For the moment I only have four, i changed them a bit in my own way......

I do not think i will make them all, we will see.........

Bastet cowl and some market pictures

First of all I want to send you my best wishes for this New Year. My it bring you good health, happiness and peace.

Weeks before Christmas I was so busy working for the market that I did not show you the things I made for ME.
I crochet the basket cowl with the beautiful  handdyed yarn from Renaissance Dyeing.

The sunday before Christmas I went to a market in a small village nearby. This Christmas market is famous because of the roasted ham they sell.

There also were potatoes boiling in stoves which were used to make the pig food at the farms.

Of course i bought some slices of ham and some potatoes, they were delicious.
