Back home

It is good to be back home! Life in the French countryside is so calm, so relaxed. Weather here is warm and sunny, leaves are falling.  I work in the garden and prepare the plants for the exchange market of our gardener club in the end of November.

But my sewing projects are waiting….. I bought a lot of fabric in Holland and Paris and I also bought two Japanese craft books .You’ll see the results soon.

On the picture you see my Rodochiton plant, beautiful purple flowers.

Apple Juice

Today we went to ‘La Maison de la pomme’ (where you can press your fruit) with about 170 kilo’s of apples. The result was 103 liters of juice; some weeks ago we had already 105 liters. The juice is pasteurized so you can keep it at least 2 or 3 years.

On Sew,Mama,Sew,  October is scrap buster month. There are lots of ideas  with small pieces of fabric.
I love these owls, you can find the tutorial here..

Aide-aux-Anes (Donkey sanctuary)

In 2004 a Dutch couple started in the heart of France a donkey sanctuary. They give free shelter to basically every neglected , abused or retired donkey. They offer them care attention and the love they need so desperately.

If you love donkeys , take a look at their site, they need your support.
The site is in English and French.

Busy Bee

These days I am really busy like a bee. I am sewing the clutches for my shop.

Within some weeks I shall update the shop with several clutches, all different fabrics.
The clutch measures about 26 x 15 cm.
Do you need just a small bag to wear the essentials or are you tired of rooting through your purse to find a lipstick? The clutch is perfect for both. Some has inside  a pocket for credit cards.

Maybe a nice Christmas present?

Niels

Last week I made this doll, his name is Niels. The pattern of the body is from “Tineke’s poppenboek”. The head and the clothes are from me.

The doll is for a cute little boy in Holland.
