Great succes

I participated in the fund raising for the Australian flood problems, coordinated by Toni.

As you can see we raised a lot of money. There were many auctions and raffles, most Australian woman who were so generous to give away a piece of their work.   In the auctions I won 2 quilts, fabric, baker's twine and stamps. In the raffle a won a very girly skirt.
Here are two panels of the blue angels's quilt that I won.

Aren't they lovely?

Signs of spring

When I saw this post on Ann's blog about signs of the change of season, I went to my garden with my camera. And YES, I also found some spring signs.
The first primrose in bloom.

The bulbs are coming!!!

I love these geranium leaves.

A bag from the sixties

A bought an old and dirty ikat-bag in the thrift store, I used my seamripper to save all the small pieces, some of them were too old and dirty to re-use(is this an english word?). I washed them, used fusible interfacing to reinforce, bought some new.... and here is the ikat-bag.

Th other sight.

The bag closes with a zipper and has three inside pockets. I am very glad with the result.

Vintage aprons

Last week I bought in the thrift store 'Emmaüs' three vintage half-aprons. Since then I love to wear an apron.... so feminine!
And I don't feel the need to do housework or something like that when I wear it!!

New pattern

She created a new pattern, a friend for Jacobus, Carolus and Suzie.   Again it's an easy and pleasant pattern to knit. You can buy the English pattern here.
Here are the two rabbits:

Small purses for the summer market

I am in the mood for sewing small things.
These small purses close with a button or a bead, I saw them here, you don't need a pattern, so easy!!
I used charm pack fabric so the front, back and inside are all different fabric.

Some phonepurses

For the coin purses I used this tutorial.

My first real quilt

For me this is my first 'real' quilt. It's bedsize and it's made with  Dutch folk fabric. I quilted it by hand, not always very straight ,as you can see..... It's not really finished because i ran out of ric-rac.
I can tell you that it was quite a job for me. The real quilters find it , maybe, very easy-peasy but for me it was a challenge. But I love the result and I am already dreaming about a second one:  maybe a Denyse Schmidt pattern, I love her designs.
