So sweet and so cute

When I was in Holand I saw these cute cards in a yarnshop. You could buy the kit with pattern and yarn, which was cotton perlé from DMC, there was also a hook in the kit, number 1,5.

I made them for the Christmas market, made 18 cards and I love them.

Today it is my turn and a giveaway

Today it is my turn to show my contribution to the Pincushion Bloghop. Last days i visited all the other participants and i saw a lot of very creative and original pincushions.
I made four tiny pincushions , they were very easy and quick to make. i used plastic caps from milk containers then  glued felted wool at the bottom and around and decorated it with embroidery. Pfffffff,this was my first blogpost on my Ipad. Within two weeks I will be in Italy again, for the third time I will do an embroidery/ applique week with Sue Spargo in Orvieto. I want to be able to make blogpost from Iataly, so i need to do some exercise....

My knitting projects

Do know the little cotton rabbits blog? She talks on her blog about her autistic son and she shows her knitted bunny's. Her bunny's are so sweet but there is no pattern to buy. You only can buy a pattern of cute egg cosies. and then you have the head and arms of the bunny.
But I wanted to knit a whole bunny. Nelleke had the same idea and she created the body and legs and she also created a dress. I found on the www some other patterns and transformed them into cardigan and a pair of trousers. So here are my two bunny's:

Aren't they cute? 

I also started knitting a scarf.

The pattern is made by her and when you knit it with more contrasted colors the result is  also beautiful.

And there is another knitting project waiting for me. I bought this girly cardigan pattern when I was in Paris. 

I will knit it for this cute little girl in Holland.

She loves to empty your purse and when she found this , of course she wanted to try it.....

Besides working on my Union Station  quilt I also made a log cabin cushion with reproduction fabrics.

GIVEAWAY...a package of stitching lines and a handknitted shawl

Two years ago I heard for the first time about Stitching Lines, it was on Sweet P Quilting and Creations's blog, she had a giveaway with the Stiching Lines. I did not win the package but I ordered one here.
When I used them i found it a perfect tool for machine piecing.

So when I started machine piecing my Union Station some weeks ago I used them to make perfect stars and hour- glass blocks. When I ordered some more packages I proposed  to Mary to do a giveaway on my blog because i am really very enthousiastic about this sewing tool.
What are Stitching Lines:

It's a paper stitching product that makes sewing your half-square triangles, flying geese squares and snowball corners fast, easy and accurate. 

How does it work. 

When you want to make hourglass blocks , cut the papers 1/4 inch shorter than the diagonal of your two squares. Place the paper with the dark line centered on the diagonal, like here.

You sew on the dotted line 1/4 inch from either side of the center line.

Tear away paper on both sides and paper in the middle and then cut your squares. 

You repeat these steps to make your hourglass blocks.

More Union Station....

I finished the 'zandlopers' for the Union station quilt this week.

They are all beautiful , but I have some favorites...

I can look at them for ages, the colors are so lovely. There is a lot of Judie Rothermel fabric, my favorite creator.
I also cut most of the 1 3/4 inch squares.

I only have to cut these ones :

Today is day 5 of the bloghop and it's MY turn. I started with 3 purses, using the 7,5 cm frame,  here they are.

Then I ordered some 11,5 cm frames .......

I used traditional Dutch fabric also for the inside.

And a red one in Dutch traditional fabric.

The fabric I love and.......... Yoko Saito

I love all kinds of fabric, I love reproduction fabric like this one:

I also love fabric designed by Denyse Schmidt,  her small prints, her not-so-crying colors! The teals and grey's in her lines are so beautiful! I have several pieces of her different lines. I have some Aunt Edna
