I am sewing three bags but I cannot finish them, I have to go to town, buying zippers.
So I had time to knit my cardigan. The yarn is a pleasant to knit and the colors are so warm and beautiful.
Still two patterns to go on the body.

Washing-day

When I was a child,  monday was washing-day. I remember my grandmother laying the blankets in the grass. It was called 'de bleek'.
On the picture you see me with her on this 'bleek'.

 I also have a large grass- field but I prefer to hang it out. Otherwise the chickens, the cat, the dog and the moles should make it dirty. (I don't remember moles when I was young???)

Monday iI washed the new fabric . I always wash it by hand, in the last water with a bit of vinegar, to stop bleeding the fabric.

On the needles

Years and years ago I bought this booklet with knitting patterns. It’s the ‘Ariadne breien’. Several times I looked at this pattern but I had not the courage to start. Now I think I’ll have enough experience to knit the pattern. I’ll modify it into a cardigan, that means that I have to steek ……….

I started already with the Island yarn that I had in my stash.

Off the needles

I have finished Amalia. It's a very clever pattern, well written and completely seamless!
The yarn was a bit scratchy, but the cardigan is warm and cosy and fits perfectly.

Folk art quilt

Today the book arrived that I ordered from Sue Spargo.  She is a Folk art quilter. She was born in Zambia and is influenced by the traditional African designs.  Now she lives in the U.S. Her work is very original and colourful. I love it!.

And the winner is.........

There was a giveaway on Noek's blog.  She gave a way pieces of felt to make this garland. The idea came from Anna Maria Horner's site. I am the winner!
I don't know if I'll make this garland because I've other projects in mind. I am very happy with my present.

My father

Today it's one year ago that my father died. He was 93 years old.

Yesterday I promised you Cupcakes and owls bags, here they are. Are n't they cute?

Today I found this phonebook paper dress, here you can find more pictures. I really love the dress,  it's sewed, glued, pleated, all by hand

Matryoshka bag

Here it's winter, cold, a little bit of snow. It's good to be inside  near the stove....and sew bags!Matryoshka bag for girls. Tomorrow more...one with owls and one with cupcakes.

New bags

I made two new bags. I love the 'vintage' shape. Th red one has a magnetic snap closure and the blue one a zipper. Both have two pockets inside, of which one with zipper.

African fabric

Here I ordered African fabric , the package arrived today. I ordered earth colors, they are my favorite colors. The fabric is so beautiful! And of course........
''ll make bags with them.

URAL motorcycle

Mr Busybeefree has a Russian motor cycle with sidecar, an URAL. With the Best-Wishes-mail from the Ural company came some cute pictures. I'll show you some.
