Off the needles

Today Carolus came off the needles, i started to knit him yesterday night. A quick and easy knit.

And here is the finished cedarleaf shawlette in blue/green.

In the meantime I knitted this shawl in green. It's a present for an old lady in Holland. I am going to visit her next week. Some weeks ago I showed you another one that I knitted for her. But i am afraid that one is a bit too small so I searched another pattern. This is the  'simple but effective shawl' pattern.

Easy and mindless knit with nice result.

Jacobus

Last days I knitted Jacobus, the monkey. The pattern was so well written with many pictures, a pleasure to knit. I bought the pattern in Dutch but there's also an English version, you could buy it here.
You also could find on her blog  Carolus, Suzie, Victoria and Lodewijk. The patterns of  these cute little animals are free.

Sewing machine

I need to buy a new sewing machine. yesterday I was in town to test a Bernina They only had the 440 QE in stock. An expensive  one, but I was rather satisfied . Next week I'll be in Holland and then I'll try more sewing machines? Pfaff, Brother, Janome. If you could advice me......please do. It's such a difficult decision.

An artist

The mother of the cute little boy in Holland is a nurse but also an artist. They asked her to decorate the walls in the child unit in the hospital where she works.

Japanese bag books

Today, the 3 Japanese books, which I ordered in Nelie's Etsy shop, arrived. They are just gorgeous, the pictures are great and the patterns are very special.

Giveaway present

Some weeks agoI told you about the giveaway on Cara's blog, The Quilt Nook. And I am the winner of the fat eight bundle Maison de Garance from French General.  The package arrived this week.
Imagine there are 38 fat eights in the bundle! And the fabric is so lovely, the design is really exclusive and the colors (especially the reds) are beautiful.

A walk in my garden

Although it's very dry here and most flowers are already faded there still are some.....

Ready!

I finished the two cedarleaf shawlettes some days ago. While they were blocking i knitted the dark purple one, it's the 'Annis' pattern.
Which one do you like most?

Motocoeur/Motor-cycle heart

Yesterday was the 12th Motocoeur in a small village  20 kilometers from here. It' a motor-cycle event with a social intention. Besides this  good intention they try to beat the record each year. Last year there were 1140 motor-cycles and this year 1260!!!!!  And imagine all these  in a small village  with a church, a school and some houses.... Wherever you looked you only saw(most) black vehicles and black leather .......
My companion also was here, so he participated with the black labrador in the side-car.
