More Union Station....

I finished the 'zandlopers' for the Union station quilt this week.

They are all beautiful , but I have some favorites...

I can look at them for ages, the colors are so lovely. There is a lot of Judie Rothermel fabric, my favorite creator.
I also cut most of the 1 3/4 inch squares.

I only have to cut these ones :

An apron for a two years old girl.....

Tomorrow will be Kalle's birthday . Last year I knitted a bear for her, do you remember him?

And do you remember her face when she saw him?

She is a very girly girl, always walking with bags and  wearing jewelry. So I thought maybe i could sew a small apron.
When  I saw the apron kelly from the Handmaden made for her daughter I wanted to make the same.
kelly was so sweet to adjust the pattern  to fit a two years old girl, you can find her post here.
And this is what I made for kalle.

I used A vintage apron that I bought in Italy two years ago, the clown ribbon is also vintage. 

I hope it will fit here......

My new quilt project.....Union Station

When I saw the Union Station quilt in Quiltmania, number 87, january/february 2012,  I was in love immediately. All those Civil War fabrics, all those muted colors, all those stars......

Some weeks ago I started making the stars, I will use red, brown, blues and creme/beige in this quilt.
There are nine blocks with stars but I will make the quilt a bit smaller so I'll make 6 blocks. Th 46 stars are ready. Here are some...

I've already cut the 80 squares for the 'zandlopers'  and yesterday i started cutting the 360 1 3/4 inch squares for the four path.

It's cold outside....a quick and easy mitten pattern

The first time that I used this pattern was for the christmas market. Then i made another three pair for Christmas presents (I forgot to make pictures). last week I made another 5 pair. The pattern is really quick, you crochet one mitten in an evening. And the result is very nice and stretchy, so they will fit most hands.
I also knitted two beanies with Regia sockyarn, double stranded.

Next wednesday i will show you my new quilt project.....

I don't know if you already noticed but  I will  try to do a blogpost every sunday and wednesday. 

Tadaaaah.............I finished my poststamp quilt

This morning I finished the binding of my poststamp quilt . It measures 140cm x 190cm and  its perfect to snuggle under for a nap......

When I was twenty-one.......

After she showed us a picture on which she was twenty-one years old, there appeared a lot of beautiful young ladies on Dutch blogs.

So here am I, standing in the garden of my parents house.

 I was still living there although not happy with my life, my mother died 6 years earlier and my father was remarried. I had my own infant-class in a village not far from where I lived. 

I left Holland for Paris that year to work  as an au-pair girl . We lived in front of one of the gate's of the Luxembourg garden, every day I was there with Maria, the one and a half girl I was looking after, sitting on the edge of the sand-box together with Russian, Portugese, Italien, Engish and Greece au-pair girls.

It was my first time to be abroad and quite exiting as you can imagine!

I made some owls....

I made some owls, I need to finish their feet but I cannot find the floral tape that I need.
