Blogger's quiltfestival
In blogland there's the Bloggers quiltfestival going on. Although I am just a novice quilter I want to participate. If you love quilts go to Amy's blog and you'll find lots of gorgeous quilts.
I only made 2 quilts, one for the dog's bed. There were so many old shirts of the dog's master, and the dog's bed was a bit worn out. So I started to cut squares out of the skirts..... I discovered that cutting squares with scissors and a centimetre was not as easy as a thought. You can imagine the (not)squares, which was the result. However I love my first quilt and so do Rosa the dog.

But my favorite is my second quilt, that I made for the cat's bed. In the meantime I bought a cutter, a cutting mat and some rulers. And I am very proud of the result.....
But I still need some lessons to learn cutting because the problem with cutting is still there. i don't know where to start, how to use the rulers and so on. That all keeps me from going on.
My blogfriend Dorien wants to give me some lessons, next time I 'll be in Holland.
Maybe you could gave me a link that should be helpful.
Here is my bloganniversary-giveaway,you can enter till the first of november.

Pumpkin market 4
More pumpkin pictures.
1 ltr vodka or brandewijn,150 gr fresh ginger (the youngest you can find)
4 stalks of lemongrass
500 gr light rock sugar
Peel and cut the ginger. Try to use perfect bits only. Peel the outer layer of the lemongrass and bruise or cut it to release the flavours. Combine everything together in a jar or bottle that’s big enough to keep it all. (1.5-2 ltr) Be patient for at least 2 months, but taste it now and then to see if it’s sweet enough. It is a liqueur, so it’s supposed to be quite sweet. I forgot how much I’ve put into mine, so you need to find out for yourself.
Sikkim cucumber
Which one is the heaviest?
I also bought lemongrass to make this recipe of lemongrass and ginger liqueur. I found the recipe here.

Week 10 till Christmas.
This week i 'll give you some apron patterns, because aprons are HOT.
I found a beautiful poem about aprons:
Grandma's Apron
When I used to visit Grandma.
I was very much impressed,
by her all-purpose apron,
and the power it possessed.
She used it for a basket,
when she gathered up the eggs,
and flapped it as a weapon,
when hens pecked her feet and legs.
She used it for a hot pad,
to remove a steaming pan,
and when her brow was heated,
she used it for a fan.
It dried our childish tears,
when we'd scrape a knee and cry,
and made a hiding place
when the little ones were shy.
Farm produce took in season,
in the summer, spring and fall,
found its way into the kitchen
from Grandma's carry all.
Maybe she wore this one. Here you can find a tuto of this apron
